There are several tours available, but also many small towns to visit, sanctuaries nestled in the rocks, with religious traditions lost in time. Cosenza is a beautiful city in Calabria located in a territory inhabited by the ancient Enotrian people and frequented by the Romans. Its origins date back to the period when the Bretti decided to found their capital at the foot of the Silan plateau.
Cosenza, known as the Athens of Calabria, has a privileged position compared to other capitals of Calabria. It is situated in a natural setting of hills in the Crati Valley, at the confluence of the Busento River, which divides the modern part of the city from the old part, which rises on the slopes of the Pancrazio mountains. There is no bad time to visit it, as its typically Mediterranean climate and its artistic, historical and cultural beauties always welcome tourists!

Pentedattilo, also known as Ghost Village, located in the fraction of Melito Porto Salvo, in the province of Reggio Calabria, dates back to 600 BC. with its strategically privileged geographical position. Its peculiar shape, nestled in the rock like a Cyclops hand with five fingers, gave the name Pentadattilo to this charming place. A little more about Pentedattilo
Its shape resembles a Cyclops hand with five fingers (hence the name Pentadattilo) and its streets were the scene of the “Alberti massacre”, a feud between two noble local families. Today, it is a fascinating place full of mystery; the population has moved away, making the village a ghost town. Italo Calvino said that “its past was written in the streets”. 6) Unmissable places in Calabria: SANTA SEVERINA!
Santa Severina is one of the most stunning villages in Italy. Although few know of its existence, this Calabrian town located in the province of Crotone is known as “the ship of stone”, due to its imposing fortress, baptistery and cathedral, which testify to the importance of the Byzantine presence in Calabria. In 2015, in a competition promoted by the famous tourist program Kilimangiaro came in 3rd place among the most beautiful villages in all of Italy.

Reggio Calabria, the most important Greek city. The most beautiful Calabrian city, from a historical, architectural and natural point of view, is Reggio Calabria, known throughout Italy for its spectacular seafront, its famous Corso Garibaldi, full of fashion shops, bars and restaurants and for the wonderful panorama that it offers tourists, a unique landscape. This beautiful city is also known for being home to the famous Riace Bronzes, preserved in the Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria, the most important bronze statues representing the period of classical Greek art.

The railway infrastructure in Calabria extends over some 850 km of lines and around 115 stations. The network is made up of the Tyrrhenian route (Rome–Naples) – Praia – Paola – Lamezia Terme – Reggio Calabria, which, in addition to connecting the most important towns on the Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria with each other and with the main cities of Campania and central Italy, also forms the connection between the Sicilian railway network and the rest of the national network.
