1) Let’s visit the most beautiful villages in Calabria in 3 days? FIRST DAY
Day 1 Reggio – Scilla – Bova – (110 kilometers) – Scilla and the Castello dei Ruffo – Arrive at Reggio Calabria airport. We will pick up the car at the dealership and leave to visit the first village: Scilla, known as the “Venice of the South”, due to the way the houses “support” in the sea. Walk through its alleys. What Are The Ten Places You Must See In Calabria?
Stop for lunch and continue our tour…
We recommend lunch at a restaurant in Scilla, the base of its most famous product: swordfish. Before proceeding to the next most beautiful village in Calabria, I suggest you to make a brief stop in Reggio Calabria to visit the archaeological Museum with the famous Bronze of Riace statues, two magnificent works of art (dated around the 5th century BC).
A little about the Statues …
They are great examples of ancient Greek sculpture, belonging to the transitional period between archaic Greek sculpture and the ancient classical style, one of them is attributed to Phidias, considered the greatest sculptor in Ancient Greece. We keep going and now we’ll reach Bova, capital of the Greek area, where nowadays they still speak a dialect derived from Greek and where traditions of the East are maintained. Overnight in the area.
2) Let’s visit the most beautiful villages in Calabria in 3 days?SECOND DAY
Day 2 Gerace – Stilo (133 kilometers) – Gerace – After breakfast, departure for Gerace to visit the Norman city par excellence. Then we go to Stilo, which certainly preserves the most important architectural jewel in all of Calabria, the Cattolica, a small Byzantine temple, dating from the 9th century AD, with square plan and Greek cross. Overnight in the area.
3) Let’s visit the most beautiful villages in Calabria in 3 days? THIRD DAY
Day 3 Santa Severina – Lamezia Terme (230 kilometers) – The Castle of Santa Severina – After breakfast, departure for Santa Severina, the “stone ship”. Founded in the 9th century, Severina has one of the most beautiful castles in southern Italy, completely restored, revealing 1200 years of history! We go back to Lamezia Terme airport. If you still have some time available, before leaving the car at the airport we will be able to make short stops in other famous maritime locations in Calabria such as Tropea and Pizzo. Arrival at the airport. End of the tour! Take this tour with me!
