1) San Nicola Arcella in Calabria: VISIT ARCOMAGNO

San Nicola Arcella is one of the most beautiful tourist resorts on the splendid Riviera dei Cedri (Riviera of the Cedars), one of the most magical places in Calabria. It is a village with just under two thousand ‘souls’, but of untouched beauty that explodes in all its power. Its beaches that stretch between Praia a Mare and Scalea overlook a crystal clear sea and are protected by the Pollino Mountains.

The most famous beach in San Nicola Arcella is, without a doubt, that of Arcomagno, and certainly also the most fascinating. This beach is a real charm, named for the majesty of the natural arch carved into the rock by atmospheric agents, which allows you to reach a cave located within a cove that can only be reached by sea or walking. 2) San Nicola Arcella in Calabria: VISIT PUNTA DI DINO

Historically it was one of the routes used by the Saracens to reach the coast, in fact it was also known as the Grotta del Saraceno. The sea cave of Arcomagno, with its small bays of wild appearance, represents an unforgettable panorama; this rock arch suspended over the sea will frame spectacular water in front of you and you will feel like you are inside a postcard. Inland there is a charming lagoon in the shape of a half moon, about 25 meters long. The main attraction of this small village is the sea, but there are many historical and cultural testimonies. One of them is certainly the Coastal Tower, which dates back to the 16th century, with a square plan and props in the corners, and was built on the small rocky peninsula called Punta di DinoCalabria Itinerary: 12 Days In Paradise!

3) San Nicola Arcella in Calabria: VISIT PUNTA THE CHURCH OF SAN NICOLA OF TOLENTINO

This tower is also known as the Crawford Tower, which was one of the owners, because of the famous American writer Francis Marion Crawford, who stopped here and fell in love with the beautiful scenery that this city has to offer. This church is the main one in San Nicola Arcella. The interiors are beautiful, with wooden processional statues from San Nicola, San Vincenzo Ferreri and San Giuseppe. There are also interesting palaces, such as the Palazzo dei Principi Lanza di Trabia, summer residence of the Scalea noble family, the Spinelli. This palace is in Baroque style, built in rock stones, tuff and pieces of terracotta, and is rich in architectural elements of relief, both in the entrance portal with its arches, and in the inner courtyard. As we said the attraction of this place is, especially, the sea; in fact the coastline of San Nicola Arcella has a rocky coast, with alternating cliffs and sandy coves hide in spectacular bays with a turquoise sea and a dense Mediterranean vegetation that surrounds these beaches. In addition to the famous Arcomagno beach, you will be spoiled for choice in equally spectacular places.

5) San Nicola Arcella in Calabria: VISIT THE CANALGRANDE

From the beach, near the Cave of Enea, through a tunnel carved in the rock, you can reach Prete Beach, where you can admire the rock of the same name, in addition to the neighboring Scoglio Scorzone, located a few tens of meters from the coast. We then closed with the wonderful Carpino Beach, a small natural cove surrounded by the blue of the Mediterranean Sea and the green of its abundant vegetation.
